It’s finally springtime, and in our never-ending quest to spread the joy of photography and vintage cameras, we’re giving away another fine Canon AE-1. But this time we’re not stopping there. We’ve got gifts for honorable mentions as well!
We reviewed the AE-1 many moons ago, and it’s an impressive classic machine. While not completely perfect, the AE-1 is capable of anything the average shooter can ask of it, so it’ll be a great camera for our lucky contest winner.
In addition to the AE-1, the grand-prize winner will receive the exceptional and practical 50mm ƒ/1.8 FDn lens, a new roll of Kodak Ektar film, and a fresh battery. This thing will be ready to shoot when you pull it out of the box.
For three honorable mentions who don’t win the Canon, we’ve got freshly printed copies of our new Canon AE-1 Exploded View print.
So how do you enter to win? Read on to find out.
Yes, it’s been a long, cruel winter. But things are beginning to thaw and soon enough we’ll all be enjoying the rejuvenating rays of our long-lost friend, the Sun. What better way to celebrate this new beginning than to embark on new adventures with a new camera?
Take a creative photo that illustrates what the magic of spring means to you, and tag it with the hashtag #casualphotophilespringtime on any of our social media platforms.
We don’t care what camera you use; it can be a 5D Mark III or an old Nokia flip phone. The key is to use your creativity to bring a unique vision to life, and try to show what springtime means to you.
Contest entries must be received by April 30th, 2015. You can submit as many different photos as you like, and you can submit the same entry on all social media platforms, but duplicate submissions on a single platform will be ineligible.
The photos will be reviewed across all our social media platforms and we’ll choose a winner by May 3rd. We’ll announce the winner in a post displaying their name and showcasing the winning shot, as well as those runners-up who will be walking away with our AE-1 print. The winning shooter will be contacted to arrange shipment of their new camera.
The best part of running CASUAL PHOTOPHILE is connecting with photo geeks from all over the world. With this in mind, the contest is open to anyone, in any country, on any continent.
This is an exciting way for CP to give back to its readers, and encourage more people to shoot with these wonderful, vintage machines.
We hope you enjoy the contest.
